WHO AM I?

I’m a vibrant, energetic individual who lives by the mantra: love, laugh, and always strive to be the best version of myself. Life is a precious journey, and I aim to make the most of every moment, whether it’s with my family, friends, or doing something I’m passionate about. As the Managing Director of our family business – a journey that began for me over 30 years ago – it’s more than just a career; it’s a way of life. The privilege of shaping and growing the company over the years has been a cornerstone of my personal and professional development. I’m incredibly proud of where we’ve come from and where we’re going. Our head office is now based in the stunning county of Norfolk, a place I’ve come to love. But work is only one part of my world. My true passions revolve around my daughter, Grace, and our shared love of horses. Grace, whom I consider my greatest leadership success, has become a remarkable young woman. At just 16, she’s already taken out her Amateur jockey license and is stepping into the competitive world of horse racing. I couldn’t be prouder of her determination, her spirit, and the independence she’s cultivating. It’s a privilege to watch her chase her dreams, and in many ways, her journey inspires me just as much as I’ve tried to inspire her.

Horses have been a constant presence in my life. I raced as an amateur jockey later in life, embracing the thrill of the competition and the unique bond between rider and horse. While I’ve since hung up my racing boots, I still enjoy the equestrian world through eventing on my horse, Rockett Man, a steadfast partner who keeps me grounded and passionate about riding. These days, however, I find myself more often in the passenger seat—quite literally—driving Grace to races all across the UK, cheering her on from the sidelines as she begins her own journey in the racing world. In 2021, we embarked on a family adventure that would take us to France for three years. Moving to a foreign country was a personal challenge for me—adjusting to a different culture and language was no easy feat. But the experience was invaluable, and for Grace, it was transformational. She thrived, quickly becoming fluent in French, and the experience expanded both our horizons. Now back in Norfolk, we cherish those memories while embracing the opportunities that our current life offers.

Fitness and health are passions that keep me focused, driven, and, most importantly, happy. I’m a keen swimmer, and you’ll find me in the water whenever I can be – whether it’s a pool, the sea, or a river, the freedom I feel while swimming is unmatched. I also love cycling, especially with friends. The social side of exercise makes it that much more enjoyable, and I relish the sense of community that it brings. Staying fit isn’t just about physical health for me – it’s a way to connect with others, clear my mind, and stay empowered in my daily life. Looking back, I see that life is made up of stories that shape us into who we are today. My story has been full of lessons, growth, and joy. One of the most significant lessons I’ve learned along the way is the importance of responsibility. Whether it’s in raising a family, leading a business, or caring for myself and others, responsibility is a theme that runs through all aspects of my life. It’s shaped my decisions, guided my actions, and continues to influence how I approach both challenges and opportunities. So, as I continue to grow and learn, I’m eager to share more of my journey with those who cross my path. Life has been a grand adventure so far, and I can’t wait to see what comes next.
